The MORSE G3 film developing tank

I bought my Morse G3 film developing tank of ebay a couple of years ago! I paid 24$ for it becaus i was interrested to se if it was possible to develop 16mm b/w negativs film at home. I hace since then only used it to develop aprox. 90meters of kodak 16mm DoubleX film! The results have been varying.

In my experiments i have used normal b/w still photography chemicals. That's D76 developer and normal water for stopp and den regular fixbath. I found for the doubbleX filmstock that 15 windthroughs at aproxx. 1 wind/sec gave a descent result. Perhapps a bitt over developed but that was fine for me!

Beneath is a quicktime file of som film i shoot and developed my self. The negativ was then projectet using a regular 16mm projectr and filmed whit a DV camera. The material was then inverted in post and the levels were corrected! This would give you a rough ideé of how this type of film could look! The clipp was shot using a russian K3 16mm kamera!

Here is another clip i put togheter! This time i scanned some of the hand developed negative with my flatbed scanner . I then cut all of the frames together to small animations! The clips were shot with my Kodak Brownie 16mm kamera and my Krasnogorsk K3 on different old b/w filmstocks. The result is very experimental.

At the moment i no longer have a possibility to experiment with the MORSE G3 tank. As soon as i have space/time and a darkroom again i will continue to post reports of my experimenting!

I have taken the moment to scann my original copy of the morse G3 instruvtion manual. It might be of some help to people trying to experiment with the morse G3. It can be downloaded as an PDF file here -> Morse G3 manual
